Student Clubs and Organizations

TMAPS (external link)  is the course union representing Urban and Regional Planning students at TMU. They organize a variety of events that foster a strong community among SURP students and provide opportunities to network with industry professionals.

TMAPS has also initiated a Drawing Kit Resale Program (external link) , which allows students to buy and sell their PLG 220 studio materials.

FCSS (external link, opens in new window)  represents over 7,000 undergraduate students in the Faculty of Community Services (FCS). As a SURP student, you have access to the many supports and services offered. You can also join FCSS Clubs (external link, opens in new window)  and connect with peers from the other faculties.

The TMSU (external link, opens in new window)  is the central student union representing full-time undergraduate students. They offer academic advocacy and enhance student life on campus. The student union also oversees a variety of student clubs and organizations, offering opportunities for involvement, networking, and extracurricular activities.

Black Student Success and Engagement (opens in new window)  here to support your journey, offering resources and opportunities to help you thrive. This initiative, led by the Office of the Vice-Provost Students (OVPS), is dedicated to empowering Black students through tailored services, events, and community connections. Explore and find everything you need to succeed.

The Black Student Lounge (BSL) (opens in new window)  is a welcoming place for you to study, relax and connect with the community.

The lounge aims to counter the harms of institutional racism by creating safer spaces for healing and belonging.

It's open to Black students, TMU staff and faculty, fitting about 30 people. Inside, there are seats, tables, a screen, a whiteboard, computers, and a kitchenette for you to use while you enjoy the space.

Gdoo-maawnjidimi Mompii Indigenous Student Services (opens in new window)  offers culturally supportive programs and initiatives to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students at TMU, ensuring access to specialized services that strike a balance between academic excellence and traditional teachings and culture.

International Student Support (ISS) (opens in new window)  works to foster a sense of belonging and community for all students who are new to Canada as well as for those students seeking a global experience on campus.

We welcome and support newcomers to Canada as they adjust to the new Canadian environment and culture. International Student Support will connect you to Toronto Metropolitan University’s vibrant campus community, and support you in reaching your academic, personal, and professional goals
